Some rides are just about the journey, and others—like our Izitton group Shabbat cycling —become something much more. Meeting in Ra’anana on a cool and foggy morning, we set out, led by Moti Zamir, eager for another adventure along the breathtaking Sharon Coast.
We met in Ra'anana, the "Izitton" group of riders for a Shabbat cycling. Led by Moti Zamir, we headed towards Sharon Park, when the air was cool and very humid and foggy. We passed through orchards, with the trees heavy with fruit and their scent carried in the air.
We passed through the surrounding settlements and the Udim Reserve, with spectacular colorful blooms accompanying us. Yellow mustard flowers, chrysanthemums, comon chamomile flowers, poppies, and more, and the inflorescences of the Hyacinth Squill flowers that stood upright in the sun that had already emerged and warmed this beautiful day.
Coffee, Coastal Views, and High Jumps
After a well-earned break at a café, where we enjoyed coffee and pastries, we pushed on toward Agmon Hefer and the Yakum Reserve. As we approached the coast, the salty breeze mixed with the floral scents, and soon, we were greeted by stunning sea views.
Here, the group’s energy soared. Some friends demonstrated their skills in high jumps, leaping against the backdrop of the sea, determined to capture the perfect photo.
On the coastal cliffs, we either rode or swam on the sandy paths, between large, amazing white patches of the chamomiles and a multitude of blossoms and even met a turtle resting among the flowers.
A Shared Meal and a Special Guest
As the journey came to an end, we gathered for a shared meal, reliving the highlights of the ride with laughter and joy. The day felt even more meaningful with the presence of Ivgenia, the mother of Andrei, who had been rescued from Gaza. Her presence was a poignant reminder of resilience, hope, and the strength of community.
More Than a Ride
Cycling with Izitton is never just about the miles we cover—it’s about the connections, the beauty we witness, and the moments that stay with us long after the ride is over. This Saturday ride along the Sharon Coast was no exception. It was a celebration of nature, friendship, and the simple joy of exploring the world on two wheels.
Until the next ride, may our paths always be filled with blooms, good company, and a sense of adventure.
